In Nova City, death is no longer permanent. Neural backups restore the dead in new bodies with their memories intact. But when homicide detective Sid Nicholson discovers memories that should not exist, an investigation into one impossible death exposes something far larger: the system preserving humanity’s memories may also be rewriting them and Sid’s own forgotten past may be part of it.
